I started throwing clay in 2016, after my grandma passed. I needed somewhere to put myself that wasn't grief, and studio time became the only place my mind could go quiet. Life got busy and I stepped away from the wheel for a while. When I lost my dad, I came back to it.Ceramics taught me that you can find beauty in the dark, even if you have to make it yourself. Every piece I throw is an extension of me, and an ode to the people who came before me: family who made my dreams possible at the cost of their own. Making them one of a kind is how I honor who they're modeled after.They're built for everyday use, made to last, because grief is the same. It's something you return to and work through every day, so you can hold onto the gratitude for the people you lost.
